About the Author

The Weight of Grace is Tom Tenney’s debut story, born from a vivid dream and a heartfelt conversation about the invisible burdens we all carry. Inspired by the phrase “Take up your cross and follow me,” and deeply influenced by A Liberated Mind by Steven C. Hayes, Tom writes with a focus on compassion, resilience, and the quiet strength found in human struggle. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and an MBA, as well as five years of experience as a therapeutic foster parent, Tom has learned the transformative power of listening and empathy.
He lives in Gilbert, Arizona, with his wonderful wife and their four sons. When he’s not writing, he enjoys hiking, running, and cheering on his kids from the sidelines. As a lifelong fan of college football, he proudly roots for the Arizona State Sun Devils.
What if the unseen burdens you judged were a reflection of a shared human experience? What if every person you met held a lesson you were meant to learn from? This story is a journey into shifting your perspective, where acceptance illuminates the path, and choosing connection over judgment leads to a life of deeper meaning. This is more than a story; it’s an invitation. My hope is that this story inspires you to approach the world with more compassion and empathy. But beyond that, I want to invite you to take part in something bigger.
